Valencia Basket is looking for a win in Vitoria that will return the series to La Fonteta
Valencia Basket faces the Liga Endesa Quarterfinals game 2 at the Bitci Baskonia’s court (Saturday 28, 6:30 p.m., Fernando Buesa Arena, Movistar Deportes) with the need to add a win that will allow the taronja squad to stay alive in the series and take the clash back to La Fonteta after the 79-80 loss in the game 1 played on Tuesday.
It will not be an easy task against a rival with confidence after recovering the home court advantage in these quarterfinals and who will have the support of their fans on the acb court where the taronja team has the worst historical results (only 17.5 % of victories in the Fernando Buesa Arena).
However, the most recent precedent, Liga Endesa Regular Season round 29 played on April 17, ended with a 71-78 Taronja win. To extend the series until next Monday, Valencia Basket will have to rewrite its own history and do something that it has never achieved until now: win twice in Vitoria against Bitci Baskonia in the same season.
The taronja team maintains the absence of the long-term injured Klemen Prepelic and the doubt of what the Icelandic guard Martin Hermannsson can contribute, who although he has already joined the work with the rest of his teammates is not yet 100% after tendinopathy in the Achilles of the right leg that kept him away from the courts for three weeks and he was only on the court for four minutes and twenty seconds in the first game.
